How to become a Git

Where to Start? This post is probably a long time in coming, but I thought I'd better discuss how to approach the Gitz if you're a newer player. For long-time readers (if there are  any ) it probably hasn't escaped your notice that I've not posted many decklists. That's been a conscious decision on my part: I'm the first to admit that while I'd regard myself as a competitive player, I'm raising two little Goblins of my own (the younger one is five today - happy birthday Emma!), so my opportunities to test the theory is somewhat limited. So, while I can't provide a concrete endorsement of the Best Possible Gitz Deck (tm), I am more than comfortable providing a starting point for newer players In addition I'll also put together a Buyer's Guide that will lead into a decklist. I'll also give some overall commentary on how best to get the Gitz to function as an entity. I've covered this previously, talking about individual fighter...

The Ghoul Next Door

This week's blog comes with a soundtrack.  Ahh, Spring!   The smell of cut grass, crisp mornings and warm afternoons; the birds are chirping (though true to Australian form, some of our birds are attacking cars and cyclists with murderous rage channelled straight from the Jurassic). It’s a time of rebirth and renewal, and, appropriately enough, the start of a new Season of Warhammer Underworlds! Bonza! The Grymwatch Expansion features a bunch of smelly green folk with bad hygiene and questionable mental states. No, we’ve not got another Goblin expansion (though one is coming, but more on that at the end), instead Beastgrave has been overrun with Ghouls. Frankly, they’re so unsanitary it’s enough to make one pine for The Mirrored City. At least there you could only get diseases from Festering Skaven. Fortunately, while the ghouls are muscling in our being-green-and-crap-and-dying-a-lot racket, the universals that come with the expansion at least give the Gitz ...

No Goats, No Glory

No Gitz   Goats, No Glory Hey! Yeah, you. DON’T TURN AROUND DON’T TURN AROUND.   I’ve got to whisper this, I’ve already taken a risk even talking to you.   What? I can’t hear you! I SAID I CAN’T HEAR YO--   Oh crap, they’ve seen me…. Look, just take this note, it’ll explain everything! I’ve got to go! ------- Dear Reader, If you are reading this then it is likely I have been attacked and missed repeatedly by Goblins. They might have even hit me, who knows?   If I you see me down the street with a mild injury you’ll know my fate. But I want to use some of the many years left to me to explain why…. I am a very loyal person, my heart is true ( Shuttup Farstriders! I wasn’t talking to you!) and my love of Zarbag’s Gitz runs deep . But lately I…well, I fear my head may have been turned. You see I -....   Do you mind if I drop the italics? It’s murder on my throat. Thanks. Well, as you might be aware, Beastgrave is approachin...

Crash the Boards 2 - Boards without Risk

Crash the Boards 2 -   Boards without Risk Hello again folks, and apologies for the time between posts. Making regular time for a blog is hard . And that’s before Imperial Knights and the Ashes keep me up way past my bedtime. Anyway, welcome back to the second part of my special on Boards and suggested deployments for Zarbag’s Gitz. In part one I looked at the six boards that contained lethal hexes. Lethal Hexes have turned from inconvenience to resource since the printing of Calculated Risk some months ago; and if you’re running that card, you probably need to limit yourself to those six boards*. If you aren’t running Calculated Risk, you can cast your eyes a bit wider. Not a lot wider, mind you.   It’s something of a curiosity, but Boards appear to be as susceptible to power creep as power deck cards, objectives or fighter cards, and I suspect that even if you’re not playing Calculated Risk , there will be a number of times where you’ll select Boards with le...
